Palghar. Police have arrested one more person in connection with the murder of a person 15 years ago in Palghar district of Maharashtra, taking the number of people taken into custody to three. Officials gave this information on Thursday. The latest arrest was made on Tuesday from Mira Bhayandar area of Thane district, police said.
Earlier, two brothers were arrested from Uttarakhand last month in the same case. The officer said that on the morning of December 13, 2007, a man’s body was found stabbed to death on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway under Manikpur police station in Vasai. According to the official, the deceased was identified as Sanjay Vinod Jha (32), who was a production manager in a garment factory.
Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar Police Senior Inspector Pramod Badakh said that two brothers, Puransingh Pratapsingh Unyoni alias Puransingh Kapursingh Parihar (41) and Mohansingh Pratapsingh Unyoni alias Mohansingh Kapursingh Parihar (38) were arrested on March 20 under the special operation. Was arrested from Bageshwar in Uttarakhand.
The officer said that during interrogation, both the brothers told the Manikpur police that they had killed Jha over some financial dispute. He also told that both of them had also lived in Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh during the last 15 years to avoid arrest. According to the official, the police on Tuesday also arrested Nilesh Dandekar, a resident of Mira Bhayander area, who is an associate of the two brothers.
