Punjab Police has arrested 2 head constables of Delhi Police, while 3 have managed to escape. These policemen had formed a gang together, which used to raid the houses of the accused who were declared absconders in the records of the Delhi Police and extort money from the families.
In Dasuha of Hoshiarpur, when they started taking away the accused who had been declared a fugitive after taking money, someone informed the police. After which the police blocked the vehicle and arrested 2 including the unnumbered Scorpio vehicle. According to Hoshiarpur Police, a case has been registered against 5 head constables of Delhi Police Manoj, Raja, Joginder Singh, Dasbir Singh and Shri Pal. Among them, Manoj and Raja were caught. 1.50 lakh rupees have also been recovered from the accused.
During police interrogation, Manoj and Raja told that both are head constables in Delhi Police. The other three are also in the same position, but two of them have been dismissed. These five together formed a gang, which is the P.O. of Delhi. They used to collect money by raiding the houses of the declared accused.
Among Mukerians also, these five people are PO named Harpreet Singh. According to the police, these accused raided the Hoshiarpur police without informing them. Not only this, the accused were trying to escape by breaking the police block with an unnumbered Scorpio car. Currently, the police will remand the accused and get information about other incidents committed by the gang. Along with this, raids have also been started to arrest the absconding accused.
