New Year's gift to the youth, the Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to the newly recruited 520 clerks

Appointment letters will be distributed to 500 more youths on January 18

Youth are becoming active partners in the social and economic development of the state

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today handed over appointment letters to 520 newly recruited clerks-cum-data entry operators in Punjab State Cooperative Bank as a New Year gift to the youth of the state.

Addressing the youth after handing over the appointment letters at the Tagore Theater here, the Chief Minister said that today's appointment letter distribution ceremony is not the first event of his government as the state government has so far recruited more than 40,000 youths for government jobs through many such events. The appointment letter has been distributed. He said that the state government is making serious efforts to restore the ancient glory of Punjab and make it 'Rangala Punjab' again. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that almost every other village of the state has the touch of the feet of the great Gurus and the land of Punjab has produced brave sons who laid down their lives for the sake of their country.

The Chief Minister said that Punjabis are natural born entrepreneurs and have leadership qualities and due to this, Punjabis have recognized their abilities all over the world. He said that no one knows the hard work of Punjabis due to which today Punjabis are gaining fame in every field. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this passion of Punjabis can be used for the progress and prosperity of the state.

The Chief Minister said that Punjabis with brave and dedicated spirit have made unprecedented sacrifices to free the country from the slavery of British rule. He said that it is a record in itself that more than 90 per cent of the patriots who sacrificed their lives or were victims of British oppression in one way or another were Punjabis. Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized that even today, Punjab is at the forefront of protecting the country's borders and making the country self-reliant in food production.

The Chief Minister said that as the Chief Minister of Punjab, his every step is dedicated to ensuring the progress of the state and the prosperity of the people. He said that unfortunately the Chief Ministers before him were never concerned about the state but were more concerned about their personal interests. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the rejected political leaders of the state are criticizing him on every issue.

The Chief Minister said that Punjab has a private company GVK. Power owned Goindwal Power Plant has created history by buying it at a cost of Rs 1080 crore. He said that now for the first time the reverse trend has started that the government has bought a private power plant whereas earlier the state governments used to sell the government properties to the favored individuals at “coddy'' prices. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the coal from Pachwara coal mine can be used only for government power plants, so with the purchase of this power plant, this coal can be used to generate electricity in every sector of the state.

The Chief Minister said that now a complete change is being seen in hospitals and schools and new medical colleges are being built for the welfare of the common man. He said that these decisions are being taken only by those people who are aware of the problems of the people at the ground level. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the traditional political parties have ruined the state and now they are shamelessly talking about morality.

The Chief Minister emphasized that due to the efforts made by the state government, a major industrial revolution is being seen in Punjab. He said that during the last 18 months, Tata Steel and other big companies have made preparations to invest in the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is an important step towards making Punjab a leading state and 'Rangala Punjab'.

The Chief Minister said that due to the concerted efforts of the state government, Punjab has emerged as the most preferred destination for investment in the country. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that during his government, more than Rs 55,000 crore has been invested in Punjab so far, which will create 2.95 lakh employment opportunities for the youth. He said that there will be more investment in the coming days to boost economic activities in the state.

The Chief Minister said that while in the last 75 years the youth used to yearn for one chance for a government job, now they are getting three jobs in a year. He said that the previous governments never cared about the welfare of the state or its progress, but the current government is leaving no stone unturned. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that in the last 25 years, only two politicians have ruled Punjab and exploited the resources of the state for their personal interests.

Referring to the verse of Gurbani 'Pavanu Guru Pani Pita Mata Dharti Mahatu', the Chief Minister said that the great Gurus have given the status of Guru to Air (Pawan), Pani (Water) to Father and Land (Dharta) to Mother. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the time has come when we should adopt the teachings of Pawan Gurbani in our lives to restore the ancient glory of the state by taking the resolution to save the environment of the state. He said that the state government will leave no stone unturned for this noble cause but for this the youth should play an important role.

The Chief Minister appealed to the youth not to dwell on their achievements and said that they should remain humble and work hard to achieve more success. He said that self-confidence and positive approach are the basic qualities of every personality but one should not be arrogant about it. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these qualities are the measure of success in every field and they should be applied in the right way.

The Chief Minister said that the journey of youth to government jobs will continue and appointment letters will be handed over to 590 more youth on January 18. He said that the aim of this is to make the youth equal partners in social and economic progress. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed to the welfare of every section of the society including the youth.

The Chief Minister invited the newly recruited youth to use their position for public welfare and said that instead of harassing the people coming for work, justice should be given. He said that the state government is making continuous efforts for the welfare of the people and will leave no stone unturned.

Taking a dig at the BJP state president's comment about the state's blight, the Chief Minister said that misguided leaders like Sunil Jakhar are standing in the way of the state's progress. He said that these leaders have ruined two generations of our state, due to which these leaders did not attend the debate on November 1 last year. Bhagwant Singh Maan said that the intelligent people of Punjab pushed these leaders into oblivion by removing them from the political ranks.

The Chief Minister said that the traditional political parties are jealous of him because he belongs to a common family and is working tirelessly to ensure the welfare of the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders always believed that they have the birthright to rule the state, due to which they cannot digest that a common man is running the state with great efficiency. He said that these leaders have been fooling people for a long time but now people will not follow their misleading propaganda.

The Chief Minister said that those days are gone, when the head of the state used to stay confined in the big rooms of his palaces, on the contrary, now the head of the state always lives among the people. He said that every promise made by our government to the people is being fulfilled as soon as possible to boost the development of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now access to the Chief Minister is very easy, due to which every issue of the state is being resolved quickly for the welfare of the people.

The Chief Minister said that by rejecting the tableau of Punjab, they have disrespected great martyrs like Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru, Shaheed Sukhdev, Lala Lajpat Rai, Shaheed Udham Singh, Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, Mai Bhago, Ghadri Baba. He said that the central government is trying to reduce the contribution and sacrifice of martyrs by not including the tableau of these heroes in the Republic Day parade. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this cannot be tolerated as it is a great disrespect to great patriots and national heroes. He said that the martyrs do not need to get a certificate of patriotism from the BJP-led central government.

Earlier, Special Chief Secretary to Chief Minister and Finance Commissioner Cooperation V.K. Singh welcomed the Chief Minister and asked the newly recruited clerks to perform their duties diligently for the welfare of the common man. He said that the co-operative bank has immense potential to give a big boost to the industrial development of the state for which newly recruited clerks can play an important role. V.K. Singh said that the youth of Punjab can be of great help in strengthening the cooperative sector of the state.
