And in this case the postcard took 54 years to reach the addressee. But, the story does not end here.

Facebook user Jessica Means shared, “Help me solve this mystery! Please repost/share. I would love to know how it made the door-to-door approach over the decades. Maybe you or someone you know has a clue who mailed it from Tallahassee in 2023!”

He continued, “This postcard arrived in the mail today, titled: ‘Mr. and Mrs. Rene Gagnon or current resident.’ It was originally posted from Paris on March 15, 1969, although it took 54 years to reach its destination! It has a new postmark of Tallahassee, Florida dated July 12, 2023. Obviously, the ‘or current resident’ and the new stamp was deliberately created so how did it get from Paris to Tallahassee to Maine?!

Meaning the content of the postcard was shared on Facebook. It read, “Dear people, I shall be at home by the time you receive this, but it seems appropriate to send this tour from the Eiffel, where I am now. Haven’t had a chance to see much but I’m enjoying it.”
