Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur further said that apart from opening new Anganwadi centers in the state, renovation of existing buildings is also being done on a large scale. He said that the recruitment of Anganwadi workers and helpers is being done in a fair and transparent manner. He said that the state government will also hand over smart phones to the employees to run the department smoothly.

He further said that the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers worth Rs 8.2 crore will also be released in a few days. Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur reiterated that the Punjab government is ensuring the safety of children, women and the elderly in the state.

He said that the government is making continuous efforts for the welfare of women especially pregnant and lactating women and to strengthen Anganwadi services. He said that the purpose of this visit is to check the infrastructure and facilities for the elderly and children living here so that better services can be implemented in government centers.
