Mohali : The entire country was painted in the colors of the 77th Independence Day, then there was a protest among the Sikhs in Punjab. A protest march was announced on 15 Asgat by the front on the border of Mohali and Chandigarh for the release of the captive Singhs. Under which people from across Punjab reached Mohali and became part of the protest march.
The demand of the front was that those Singhs who have completed their sentences and have been in jail for many years should be released. Apart from this, Sangat, who arrived in the protest march, said that the government has made laws separate for Sikhs. The rapist Ram Rahim who is being released on parole time and again but our Bandi Singh has also completed his sentences but still the government is sleeping which was gathered in Mohali to wake it up.
Sangat participated in large numbers in the protest march for the release of Bandi Singha. The roads and streets of Mohali were filled with the gathering of people, youth, old people, women and children also became a part of this march. Everyone was holding placards in their hands and slogans of Bandi Singh Rihay Karo were heard on their tongues.
The protest march started from YPS Chowk at 12 noon and went back to the National Justice Front at 3:30 p.m., passing through various sectors of Mohali. The National Justice Front started on 7th January 2023 which is still ongoing. The matter of shifting the front to another place or lifting it from Mohali has also reached the High Court. The Punjab Haryana High Court had also given 2 months time to the Hon’ble government to find a way out and lift the sit-in or shift it to another place, but the Punjab government could not do so, after which the High Court ordered the DGP of Punjab Police, Gaurav Yadav. Questions were also asked.
