Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Dr. Baljit Kaur held a review meeting with the head office officials and all district welfare officers regarding the various schemes being run by the department and instructed the officials to ensure that the benefits of the schemes being run by the department are provided to the beneficiaries on time. .
During the meeting, the Cabinet Minister discussed in detail various issues like Ashirwad Scheme, Post Matric Scholarship, Adarsh Gram Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Abhiday Yojana, hostel scheme and maintenance of Ambedkar Bhavan buildings.
Dr. Baljit Kaur further said that while the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is working for the welfare of every section of the state, it is also continuously striving for the welfare of the Scheduled Castes. He also said that the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Sc. The target is 2.6 lakh students during the year 2023-24, for which Mission 2.6 is being implemented. He also ordered the District Welfare Officers to conduct an awareness campaign to spread the benefits of this scheme to the Scheduled Caste students.
The minister has ordered the district officials to send the proposals of various schemes to the head office within 15 days. Apart from this, he appealed to the officials of the department to implement the schemes being run by the department properly so that the common people can benefit from it.
On this occasion, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Department Director-cum-Joint Secretary Raj Bahadur Singh, Joint Director Sarbjinder Singh Randhawa were specially present in the meeting.
