Shots fired between two parties in Batala, 1 person died

Late last night, a case of firing between two parties has come to light at Dahiya village under Batala police. In this case, a person from one party Sarwan Singh aged 65 years died due to bullet injury and two persons from the other party were seriously injured due to bullet injuries, who were referred to Amritsar for treatment. Based on the statements of the police, a case has been registered and further investigation has been started.

Jatinder, the son of the deceased Sarwan Singh, while stating the names of some persons, said that eight people came to our house riding two vehicles and started shooting, his father was sitting outside and he died due to bullet injuries. According to Jitendra, they did not understand why the said persons attacked us. He said that the attackers have been acquitted in two murder cases before and still other cases are pending against them, but the administration does not know why they did not confiscate their weapons.

The duty doctor of the civil hospital said that three people were brought to the hospital in an injured condition, out of which two people were injured due to bullet injuries and one person Sarwan Singh who died due to bullet injuries. He was told that this situation has arisen due to firing of bullets during the quarrel between these two parties. He said that both the injured have been referred to Amritsar.

Talking about the matter, DSP Gurbinder Singh said that the statements of the family members of the deceased have been recorded and the two who were injured have been referred to Amritsar, their statements will also be recorded. Presently, further legal proceedings have been initiated while registering a case.
