Minister Jimpa directed the water supply and sanitation department to complete all the plans

Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Shri Bram Shankar Gimpa today during a meeting with the employees of the head office of Water Supply and Sanitation Department in Patiala gave instructions to complete all the plans of the department in a timely manner. On this occasion, Mr. Gimpa rejected the apprehension expressed by these employees of transferring the head office of the department and all the staff from Patiala to SAS Nagar.

During the meeting held here at Punjab Bhavan, Mr. Bram Shankar Jimpa asked the employees posted at the head office to speed up their performance. He said that no delay will be tolerated in completing the schemes initiated by the department to provide better services to the people of the state.

Reiterating the commitment towards the welfare of the employees of the department, the Minister of Water Supply and Sanitation said that the employees can meet him to resolve any of their issues. He took strict notice of the fact that 95 cases of compassionate employment are pending at the head office for a long time and besides cases related to promotions of ‘C’ and ‘D’ category employees are also pending.

He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to the welfare of every section of the society and no delay will be tolerated in such matters. He directed the employees of the head office to take swift action in all such cases.

On this occasion, rejecting the apprehension of the employees of the head office that the head office and all the staff are being shifted from Patiala to SAS Nagar, Mr. Jimpa said that there is a proposal to build Jal Bhavan at Mohali where The office of the Head of the Department located at Phase 2 is to be shifted. He said that in addition to making a conference hall and presenting the performance of the department, arrangements will be made to meet the officials coming to Chandigarh, the capital of the state for work related to the department and to fulfill other such needs.

In the meeting, besides others, the principal secretary of the department Mr. D.K. Tiwari and Special Secretary Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq were also present.
