MP Vikramjeet Sahni: MP Vikramjit Singh Sahni will coordinate with the Indian Embassy in Muscat to bring the Punjabi girls stuck in Oman back to Punjab. Giving information about this matter, Vikramjit Singh Sahni said that currently around 25 Punjabi girls are trapped. Those who either went on visit visas and became illegal immigrants or became maids under employment visas and quit their jobs due to harassment and exploitation.

Vikramjit Singh Sahni, while discussing the evacuation plan in detail with Indian Ambassador to Oman Amit Narang, said that on an average, an employer demands compensation and fines of around 1000 Omani Riyals for each girl child. Which is about 2.5 lakh Indian rupees per girl to cancel their visa. If they do not do this, the owners file a legal case in the court accusing these girls of theft.

Vikramjit Singh Sahni has offered to pay the entire fine and compensation to the owners himself so that their visas can be canceled and these girls can be taken out immediately and brought to Punjab. Vikram Sahni said, “Indian Embassy and Vishwa Punjabi Sansthan, Oman Chapter are coordinating at the ground level for this and the process of payment of fees and compensation will start soon and these stranded girls will be brought back to Punjab safely.
