Chandigarh : Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira was arrested by the Punjab Police from his Chandigarh residence. Jalalabad police raided the residence of Sukhpal Singh at around 6 o’clock this morning. After the arrest of Khaira, the Congress party has started to surround the Punjab government. Condemning this arrest, the Congress said that this arrest has been made by the Punjab government under revenge.
Opposition leader Pratap Singh Bajwa and Punjab Congress president Raja Waring have targeted the Hon’ble government over this matter. Bajwa termed this action as revenge. He said that the voice of truth is being given by the government.
He tweeted that the arrest of senior Congress leader and MLA from Bhulath Sukhpal Khaira is very sad. Bajwa said that the ‘AAP’ Punjab government has done politics of revenge. Sukhpal Singh Khaira has clearly raised his voice against the wrongdoings and irregularities committed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government. He said that the Punjab Congress will leave no stone unturned to release him within the ambit of the law.

President Raja Waring termed this action of the Mann government as the recent arrest of Sukhral Khaira as a victim of political vendetta, an attempt to intimidate the opposition and a ploy by the AAP Punjab government to divert attention from the main issues. It should be said that Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira was arrested by the Punjab Police from his Chandigarh residence this morning. Jalalabad Police has detained Khaira at her house in Sector-5 in Chandigarh at 5 am today. In fact, this action has been taken after getting drugs from their employee. This action has been taken in an old case of 2015 NDPS Act 8 years ago.
