Mansa: Police arrested three drug smugglers along with 29 quintals of poppy

Mansa, August 24, 2023: Mansa police have succeeded in recovering 29 quintals of poppy by arresting three drug smugglers during their anti-drug blockade. The police have also taken possession of a canter in which poppy seeds were being brought. The drug smugglers are related to Madhya Pradesh who brought this poppy in 145 gattayas. According to the police, the weight of each bale was 20 kg. The police have registered a case in this regard and started further action. Senior Police Captain Mansa Dr. Nanak Singh has revealed this success of the police by holding a press conference. He said that a special campaign has been launched by Mansa police to prevent drugs. He said that under the leadership of Sukhjit Singh, the in-charge of CIA staff Mansa, the police party had blockaded the Budhlada-Sunam road on the old road from village Dodara to Bhadra. He said that in the meantime, an Eicher canter with a black tarpaulin and a rope tied to it was seen coming.

He said that a case has been registered at Sadar Budhlada police station regarding this recovery of drugs.

The SSP said that the accused have been identified as Nagesh son of Jagdish resident of Ema Barodia police station Samer district Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Vinod son Govardhan son of Ganga Ram resident of Lakhankheri police station Samer district Indore (Madhya Pradesh) and Dara Singh son of Pralad Singh resident of Nahar. Khera District Agarmalwa Police Station is done as Susmer (Madhya Pradesh). He said that the investigation of the matter has been started. He said that the police will now find out where and to whom such a large quantity of poppy was to be sold after obtaining the remand of the drug smugglers. He said that the police are likely to make major revelations during the investigation.
