Jammu and Kashmir: 5 martyrs including 4 jawans of Punjab in terrorist attack, CM Mann paid tribute

Terrorists attacked an army truck in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir at around 3 pm after which the truck caught fire. In the accident, 5 including 4 jawans of Punjab were martyred while the condition of one is said to be serious.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has paid tribute to the soldiers who died in the terrorist attack. In a tweet, CM Mann wrote that – five jawans of Rashtriya Rifles, four of whom were from Punjab, martyred in a terrorist attack… “May the protectors of the borders remain immortal… May God give strength to the families to believe, Salutations to the martyrs”.

One of the martyred jawans is Fauji Sevak Singh, a resident of Bagha village of Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda district of Punjab. He joined the army in 2018 and was the only son of his parents. Father Gurcharan Singh said that the servant had gone on duty after finishing his leave 20 days ago.

Another army jawan has been identified as Mandeep Singh of Ludhiana. Mandeep was a resident of village Chankoian Kalan near Doraha in Ludhiana district. He has said goodbye to his family, including his mother, wife, son and daughter, brothers.

Let us tell you that in the statement issued by the Northern Command Headquarters, it was said that the truck carrying the soldiers was going to Poonch from Bhimbar Gali. It was raining. Visibility was also very low. Terrorists took advantage of this. A jawan has been seriously injured in the attack. He has been admitted to the army hospital in Rajouri.

The martyred soldiers belonged to the Rashtriya Rifles unit. They were deployed in the ongoing operation against terrorists in this area. Earlier, the army officer had told that the soldiers died due to fire in the truck. Army Chief General Manoj Pandey informed Defense Minister Rajnath Singh about the attack.
