Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has taken serious note of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s violation of Sikh etiquette by standing bareheaded in Sikh prayers and asked him to apologize.

He said that a video of Manohar Lal Khattar has come to light during the foundation stone laying ceremony of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Charitable Hospital at Faridabad in Haryana recently, in which he is involved in Sikh prayers without covering his head.

Advocate Dhami said that the Haryana Chief Minister has violated Sikh ethics by doing so, which has greatly hurt the religious sentiments of Sikhs. He said that there is a tradition of Sikh prayer, according to which every person who stands in prayer stands respectfully with his head covered and both hands folded while being devoted to God and Guru Sahib. No one has free will in this rule.

Shiromani Committee President said that Mr. Khattar belongs to Punjabi origin and he has good knowledge about Sikh morality. Despite this, it is extremely sad and unfortunate that they deliberately hurt the sentiments of Sikhs.

He said that it is a pity that during the event, the general secretary of the unconstitutionally formed Haryana Gurdwara Committee S. Gurvinder Singh Dhamija is also seen standing with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

S. Gurvinder Singh’s failure to stop the Chief Minister of Haryana from violating Sikh norms raises big questions. It is also clear from this that the office bearers of the Haryana Gurdwara Committee, which was unconstitutionally formed on the authority of the government with the aim of destroying the Sikh organization Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, are only flatterers of the government.

They have nothing to do with the observance of Sikh morals, as has come to light during Manohar Lal Khattar’s disobedience of morals.

Advocate Dhami said that Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Khattar should immediately apologize for the violation of Sikh ethics. Along with this, the local Sikh leaders of Haryana present there must also clarify their side.
