Delhi Seva Bill: The Delhi Service Bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha yesterday i.e. Monday night. Both the ruling NDA and the opposition INDIA alliance exerted their full might. However, the NDA won with 131 votes against 102. Congress tried hard for one vote each, but could not prevent the bill from passing. Meanwhile, Congress allowed former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to vote in the Rajya Sabha to block the passage of the bill despite his ill health.

Manmohan Singh is 90 years old. Despite this, he was seen sitting on a wheelchair during the entire debate and voting. Meanwhile, the politics of accusations and counter-accusations also started regarding this. The BJP has described Manmohan Singh’s poor health and the age of summoning him to the House as inhumane.

In this regard, the Bharatiya Janata Party said in a tweet that the country will remember this ‘madness’ of the Congress. BJP tweeted, in which it was written that ‘the country will remember this madness of Congress! The Congress kept a former Prime Minister sitting in a wheelchair late at night in the House even in such a state of health. They also just to maintain their alliance! Very embarrassing!

Congress replied to BJP

Reacting to this, the Congress linked Manmohan Singh’s entry into the House with respect for the Constitution. Congress spokesperson Supriya Sharnate said that ‘Dr. Sahab’s dedication to democracy shows how much confidence he has in the country’s constitution.’ Srinath also linked it with honoring senior BJP leaders. He wrote that ‘at a time when the BJP has sent its senior leaders into a mental ‘coma’, on the other hand, Manmohan Singh remains an inspiration and courage for us. Ask your guru to learn something.’

AAP leader Raghav Chadha gave this reaction

Apart from Congress, Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha has also praised Manmohan Singh. He wrote that ‘Manmohan Singh is sitting as a torch for us against the Black Ordinance in the Rajya Sabha. His dedication to democracy and the Constitution is an inspiration to us. We respect him a lot.

Full fielding in the Rajya Sabha to block the bill

The opposition had put up a full fielding so that the Delhi Service Bill could not be passed in the Rajya Sabha. Where on one side veteran leader and former PM Manmohan Singh was present in the House. On the other hand, Shibu Soren, the founder of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, also came to the House despite his ill health. The opposition alliance could get only 102 votes against the ND to block the bill. Currently there are 238 members in the Rajya Sabha, while 7 seats are vacant.
