NH-31 has been made four lane. Vehicular traffic on NH-31 has increased manifold in the last five decades. The widening of the two-lane bridge built six decades ago on the Budhi Gandak river or a new bridge parallel to it was being felt.

Bridge built in five years

The construction work of the parallel bridge over the Budhi Gandak river started in the year 2017. The contractor was to complete the construction work of the bridge in three years. In this way, there has been a delay of more than two years in the construction of the bridge. The foreman of the newly constructed bridge told that with the DBM (blackening) on ​​the bridge, the way for the movement of vehicles on it has been cleared. He told that the work of DBM on the bridge will be organized due to the movement of vehicles for a fortnight. After that master coat will be done on DBM of the bridge. The work of light and paint on the bridge is left. The work of lighting and painting is being done on a war footing. It is expected that the work of lighting and painting of the bridge will also be completed in a week.
