Major police action on Gujarat boat accident, FIR filed against 18 people

The police have taken a major action regarding the boat accident in Vadodara, Gujarat. Police have registered an FIR against 18 people in the case of the death of 15 people due to the boat capsizing in Vadodara's Harni lake on Thursday. It should be said that 13 students and two teachers died after a boat capsized in the Harni lake of Vadodara city in Gujarat on Thursday.

Actually these students had come for a picnic and were taking a boat ride in Harni Lake when the accident happened in the afternoon. Officials said that 27 people were on board the boat, including 23 students and four teachers.

The Gujarat government has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident and directed the District Collector of Vadodara to submit an inquiry report within 10 days. Gujarat Home Minister Sanghvi said '13 students and two teachers died in the boat overturning incident.

A total of 18 students and two teachers were rescued. We have learned that only 10 students on the boat were wearing life jackets, which proves that there was an error on the part of the management. An FIR has been registered under Sections 304 and 308 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and two people have been arrested, Sanghvi said. He said that a team has been formed to catch other accused.
