In this connection, the police in Ludhiana have arrested 3 members of the inter-state vehicle theft gang. They have been arrested for stealing the vehicle from the Gurdwara Sahib parking lot and selling it to a scrap dealer in Moga.
According to information, the accused used to target vehicles from the parking lots of the shrines. After this, the accused used to sell the stolen vehicles to Jaspreet Singh, a scrap dealer in Moga. The accused have stolen vehicles from Moga, Ludhiana, Tarn Taran, Mohali and Amritsar during the last one and a half months. The arrested accused have been identified as Arshdeep Singh (22), Harwinder Singh (19), Gurdit Singh (21), all residents of Moga. The police have recovered 14 stolen vehicles including 5 SUVs, 2 cars and 7 motorcycles from their possession.
Police Commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu said that Rajeev Kumar of Hambra Road, Ayali Chowk had given a complaint to the police that his Mahindra Scorpio SUV was stolen from outside his house. The PAU police had registered a case against the unidentified accused. The accused were identified on the basis of CCTV footage. The leader of this gang is Arshdeep Singh. The accused confessed that he had sold the stolen car to Jaspreet Singh, a scrap dealer in Moga, after which the police registered a case against him.

Police Commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu said that the accused have confessed to stealing 4 vehicles from the parking lot of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar. Accused Arshdeep has studied till 12th standard, while the rest of the accused dropped out midway. The accused used to steal vehicles to get rich overnight. It is expected to get more important information from the accused during the interrogation.
