Faridkot: The Kotakpura shooting incident related to the Bargari blasphemy case will be heard in the Faridkot court today. Earlier, the hearing of this case was held on May 30. During the hearing, Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal appeared in the court, while the presence of the other accused was waived by the court.
Let us tell that 2 FIRs 129/18 and 192/15 are registered in the Kotakpura shooting incident. In this case, the SIT headed by ADGP LK Yadav and SSP Bathinda Gulneet Singh Khurana has submitted a 2400-page supplementary challan a day before the death of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Earlier on 24 February 2022, a charge sheet of 7 thousand pages was filed in the Faridkot court.
A total of 8 accused in the shooting case
In the challan, the SIT has named former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, then DGP Sumedh Singh Saini, then IG Paramraj Umranangal, SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma, SSP Faridkot Sukhmandar Mann, DIG Ferozepur Amar Singh Chahal and then SHO are added City Kotakpura Gurdeep Singh has been made an accused.
The then DGP Sumedh Singh Saini and former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal have been named as the main conspirators of this incident. While former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is accused of carrying out the conspiracy. The then IG Umranangal, DIG Ferozepur Amar Singh Chahal and SSP Moga Charanjit Singh Sharma are accused of masterminding the conspiracy.
The then SSP of Faridkot Sukhmander Singh Mann and SHO of Kotakpura Gurdeep Singh have been accused of conspiracy, hiding facts and distorting the facts. The SIT has currently filed a chargesheet in the FIR registered in the year 2018. It may be mentioned that for the first time former Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Badal has been nominated as an accused in the Kotakpura shooting incident.
On October 12, 2015, an incident of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji took place at Bargari in Faridkot. After this, Sikh organizations staged a protest in Kotakpura and Behbal Kalan, which the police tried to control. Meanwhile, on October 14, the police used force against the protesters in Kotakpura and Behbal Kalan.
Police opened fire in Behbal Kalan, in which 2 Sikh youths were martyred. Firing also took place in Kotakpura, in which around 100 protesters were injured. On August 7, 2018, the police had registered a case of premeditated murder against unknown persons. About a month ago, the SIT had submitted supplementary challans in all the three cases.
