Punjab Drug Kingpin : Jagdish Bhola, the ringleader of Punjab’s drug case worth thousands of crores, has been granted interim bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Bhola’s mother died on June 8. Due to this, Bhola has been given time till June 19 by the High Court to complete the rituals and cremate the ashes of the mother.

The High Court has allowed Bhola to perform Akhand Pathat at Sri Kiratpur Sahib from June 16 to June 18 and attend the cremation on June 19. But he will have to complete all formalities while in police custody. For this, the responsibility of monitoring Bhola has been assigned to two IPS officers, one male and one female.

DC of Bathinda has also been ordered to keep vigilance. Accused Bhola will be brought back to jail after completing all the rituals and cremation.

A synthetic drug case worth thousands of crores

Jagdish Bhola has been an international wrestler and is also an Arjuna Award winner. He joined the Punjab Police as a DSP. In the year 2013, a synthetic drug case worth Rs 6,000 crore was exposed against Bhola. Investigation revealed that he was the mastermind of the drugs case. Bhola has been declared guilty in the drugs case. Since then he has been serving his sentence in jail.
