A special fast track court in Kerala has sentenced a mother who raped her 7-year-old daughter to 40 years in prison. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of 20 thousand rupees on the accused mother.
This incident took place between March 2018 and September 2019. The woman left her mentally ill husband and lived with her lover. It is alleged that the lover of the woman raped the girl many times but the woman did not protest against it.
The mother of the girl was fully aware of this incident. The girl was also beaten. The matter came to light when the girl ran away with her elder sister and reached her grandmother. After this he told his grandmother about the incident that happened to him.
According to public prosecutor RS Vijay Mohan, the mother has been sentenced to 40 years in prison and fined Rs 20,000 for this heinous crime. He said that the victim’s mother knew everything about this incident but she did not oppose the oppression of her daughter.
The special public prosecutor said that the woman was living with two lovers, leaving her ailing husband. He said that the first lover of the woman raped the innocent girl. While the other lover helped in carrying out this incident.
While hearing this case, Judge Rekha said that this incident is shameful and the accused woman does not deserve pardon. That is why he is given maximum punishment. It may be mentioned that the accused Shishupalan committed suicide before the hearing. Due to which a case has been registered against the mother. At present, the girl child is living in a child home.
