In Texas, a speeding uncontrolled car hit a bus stop

Texas Accident: A speeding uncontrolled car crushed people standing on the roadside in the US state of Texas. In this accident, 8 people died while some people were injured. After the accident, the police arrested the accused car driver and started investigating the matter. The CCTV footage of the accident is also going viral on social media.

Brownsville police investigating officer Martin Sandoval said the accident happened around 8:30 a.m. local time. It is learned that there was no seating arrangement at the bus stand and people were waiting for the bus on the roadside. Most of the victims of the accident were residents of Venezuela.

A video of the incident has also surfaced, in which it can be seen that an SUV (Range Rover) runs over people at a bus stop. The victim was waiting for a bus to downtown Brownsville after spending the night at a shelter.

Brownsville police said several immigrants were among the dead. The man driving the vehicle has been charged with reckless driving. He is said to face additional charges. It is not clear whether the incident was deliberate or not. Police said the Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.

“We are checking the drug forms to see if he was intoxicated at the time of the accident,” Brownsville PD Lt. Martin Sandoval told Reuters.

Victor Maldonado, director of the Ozanam Center near the scene, said CCTV footage showed an SUV running a red light and speeding toward the bus stop. The injured in the car accident have been taken to the hospital. It is being told that the car driver has also sustained injuries in the accident. At present, he has not been identified.
