Boat of students who went on a trip to Pakistan overturned, 17 died

An accident has occurred with students who went on a trip to Pakistan. At least 17 students of a madrassa were killed and 13 others injured when a boat capsized in a lake in northwestern Pakistan on Sunday. The officials gave this information. Officials said the boat overturned in the Tanda Dam lake in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province when the students of Madrassa Mirbash Khel were out on an excursion.

Officials said that rescue workers have recovered 17 bodies. Kohat Deputy Commissioner Furkan Ashraf said that 30 people were on board the boat and most of them were children. Among them were students aged 7 to 14 years.

The rescue teams of the Pakistan Army have also reached the spot, where the rescue operation is being carried out. Acting Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Azam Khan has directed the local administration to provide emergency relief to the affected families.
