Patiala: This time Punjabi University has announced to conduct private MA and BA courses for boys as well. It is worth mentioning that till now this facility of private examinations was available only for girls. The university has displayed the instructions in this regard on its website. For BA course in private, minimum 35% marks in each subject in each section-semester in 12th is mandatory.
There will be no internal assessment for private students. BA Part-1 private students examination will be conducted in colleges under the jurisdiction of PU, whereas private students will not be able to take practical subjects. Students who have re-examed in 12th subject will have to re-sit the supplementary exam of the same year.
Failure to do so will automatically result in cancellation of admission to the BA Part-1 course. Students have to bring the original 12th class certificate at the time of verification of examination form in the university and verification on photocopy will not be done. Students who have passed 12th from CBSE or any other board will have to bring the original migration certificate at the time of verification.
Exemption from examination fee for disabled children will be on the basis of certificate attested by Civil Surgeon as per University rules. The examination fee once deposited shall not be refunded in case of being declared ineligible or under any circumstances nor shall it be adjusted to any other examination. Any incorrect information provided in the examination form may result in cancellation of admission.
If the students seeking private admission want to make any changes in the locked papers of Semester-1 they can do so by paying the fee as per rules 1 month before the commencement of Semester-1 papers. If a student requests to change his subject paper 20 days before the examination, he will submit his changed paper at the same examination centre.
Where the concerned set has sent the changed papers after payment. Private students in BA 1st semester can appear in person for eligibility test with original documents after 15th October or 1 month before commencement of examination.
