Bureau report : Major questions arose in the Punjab Haryana High Court on the petition of Waris Punjab chiefs Amritpal Singh, Gurmeet Singh Bukanwala, Kulwant Singh Rawke, Bhagwant Singh Bajike and Basant Singh. The court questioned that when everyone was arrested after the FIR, how can the petition calling the arrest illegal be justified.
Petitioner Waris Punjab chief Amritpal Singh and his associates argued that they were not involved in the matter. In such a situation, the action of the police and the arrest of the petitioner is wrong. In his petition, he has appealed to cancel the proceedings against him and give relief to the petitioners.
Amritpal Singh was arrested on April 23
On 23 April 2023, Punjab Police arrested Amritpal Singh from Moga. Amritpal Singh was arrested in the Gurdwara of Aap Rode village. Before the arrest, Amritpal Singh had spoken in Rode village and said that this is the birthplace of Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala. We stand at a critical juncture. Everyone saw what happened within a month, if it was only about the arrest, then they were not afraid of it. We will fully cooperate. Amritpal Singh further said that we can be proved guilty in the court of the world. But not in Guru’s court, decided after 1 month we have fought on earth and will fight. Arrest is the beginning not the end.
