Bureau report : The flood water has receded to a great extent in Patiala, but the biggest problem is now coming out of the snakes. According to the order of Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni, a rapid response team has been formed by the Forest Division Officer (Wildlife), Patiala, following the complaints of continuous snake shedding. A helpline number 8253900002 has been issued for this.

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that due to the flood situation, humans as well as all creatures are in danger. According to the criteria of natural justice, all living beings are entitled to help. Snakes are also in crisis due to their continuous stay in water and are looking for safe places for themselves. In such a situation, they are entering residential houses.

DC Sahni has asked the people to get the snake rescued by calling the snake help line instead of panicking and harming themselves or the snake. He said that on calling the helpline, the team of the wildlife department will immediately reach the spot and catch the snake. And will leave in a safe place. He also said that very few snakes are poisonous in Patiala region. Therefore, instead of panicking on getting a snake bite, immediately reach Rajindra Hospital or a nearby health center for treatment. People who are not satisfied with the response of the snake helpline number can also contact the Divisional Forest Officer (Wildlife), Patiala on 9463596843.
