The mother of the deceased, Jaswinder Kaur, said that her son got a job as a soldier after the death of his father, but he got addicted to drugs. Due to which he was suspended. According to the family, they tried a lot to get rid of the drug habit of their son, but all of them proved useless.

The people of the area say that drugs are being sold openly but the police is not taking any action. Mohalla Gandhi Camp MC Hira Lal said that Sahil died of overdose. Earlier, 2 other youths of the area have died due to drug overdose.
He said that because it is a border district, drugs are easily found, but the police do not pay any attention to it. What would be the worst situation with drugs than that a police officer dies of drug overdose. Earlier, a video from Ferozepur went viral, in which the constable was seen taking drugs.
