When the youth suddenly started firing

The accident took place in Coach No. B5 of Jaipur Express (Train No. 12956). The incident took place at 5.23 am today. Both RPF jawan and ASI were traveling in the train. Meanwhile, Constable Chetan suddenly opened fire on ASI Tikram, causing panic among the passengers. DCP Western Railway Mumbai Sandeep V while talking to ‘Ajtak’ said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the mental condition of the accused was not good. But the question is that if his mental condition was not good then why was he posted on duty?

According to the police statement, ‘on 31.7.23 at 5.23 in the morning, train number 12956 Jaipur S was informed that there was a bullet in B5. It is learned that CT Chetan on escort duty fired at ASI Tika Ram in charge of escort. The train has reached Borivali Railway Station (BVI) and according to advance information, apart from the ASI, 3 civilians are also reported to have been killed. Senior DSC coming to BCT site. The said soldier has been arrested. DCP North GRP has been informed. A detailed report is awaited.

From Borivali railway station, four bodies (ASI and three passengers) will be taken to the government hospital for post-mortem. At present all the dead bodies are kept at Borivali railway station.

Railway statement

Western Railway has issued a statement in this regard. “After crossing Palghar station, an RPF constable opened fire inside the moving Jaipur Express train,” the statement said. He shot dead an RPF ASI and three other passengers and jumped from the train near Dahisar station. The accused constable has been taken into custody along with the weapons.
