Ex-Deputy CM OP Soni appeared in court, remanded

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Om Prakash Soni has been remanded for 2 days by presenting him in the court today. Vigilance had produced the former deputy CM in the court in the case of disproportionate assets. OP Soni was arrested late on Sunday evening by vigilance in the case of disproportionate assets from the year 2016 to 2022.

On Sunday, former Deputy CM Soni was arrested by Vigilance from his house after 8 months. Sony is accused of spending many times more than their earnings. From 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2022, the income of Soni and his family was Rs 4.52 crore while the expenditure was Rs 12.48 crore. The expenditure was Rs 7.96 crore more than the source of income. Meanwhile, Soni bought properties in the name of his wife Suman Soni and son Raghav Soni.

The vigilance team that arrived here from Chandigarh also inspected the construction going on at their hotel and other places. After the completion of all these investigations, the Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against Om Prakash Soni on Sunday.
