The Congress got only five seats in Meghalaya, where it had got 21 seats in the last election. Talking about Nagaland, Congress has not got a single seat here.

Seven of the eight states in the Northeast have BJP coalition governments. Before 2014, there was no BJP government in other states except Arunachal. At present, except for Mizoram, seven states of the Northeast have BJP or BJP coalition government.
