Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot has got a new Vice Chancellor after 10 months. Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of various universities of the state Banwari Lal Purohit Dr. Rajeev Sood has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University.
Dr. Sood graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College Delhi and Dr. Completed MS (General Surgery) from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and PGMIER, Delhi and later MCH (Urology) from AIIMS, New Delhi. He has over 50 research projects and has supervised over a thousand theses and projects. He conducted more than 500 workshops and published many international research papers.
Dr. Rajeev Sood has 40 years of experience in the medical field. He served in Post MCH for 26 years, including 12 years as Professor. He died for five and a half years. He has been the founding dean of ABVIMS for over a year at PGIMER, Delhi. He has been associated with Parliament as a Euro Advisor for 10 years and has also been the Euro Advisor to the President of India.
About ten months ago Dr. After Raj Bahadur resigned from the post of Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University, the Punjab government sent a panel of names of five doctors to the Governor. In this panel Dr. Rakesh Sehgal, Prof. Baljinder Singh, Dr. KK Aggarwal, Prof. Jagdish Chandra and Dr. Rajeev Sood’s name was included. The Governor of Punjab Dr. out of the five. Rajiv Sood’s name has been stamped.
