Balwant Singh Rajoana has warned of a hunger strike. After which Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib Raghbir Singh appealed to Rajoana. He said that Rajoana should not take any step which would be a concern for his life and the nation. Jathedar Raghbir Singh said that there has been a petition from the Ministry of Home Affairs for the last 12 years. In which an appeal was made to end the rest of the sentence. Meanwhile, Jathedar Raghbir Singh has ordered the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee that the committee should take concrete steps regarding the appeal and that a meeting of all sect parties and organizations should be called.

No decision was taken on the petition

Jathedar Raghbir Singh said that not having a decision on the appeal is a big discrimination against the Sikhs. Despite the orders of the Supreme Court, the central government has not taken any decision on this petition. This is unfair to the Sikhs. He said that the government should stop making the Sikhs feel alienated, otherwise the Sikhs will be forced to think about the next strategy.

Know about Balwant Singh Rajoana

Balwant Singh Rajoana was born on 23 August 1967 in village Rajoana Kalan, Ludhiana, Punjab. Completed his education from GHG Khalsa College, Ludhiana and joined Punjab Police on 1 October 1987. Balwant Singh’s father Malkit Singh was killed by terrorists. Balwant Singh Rajoana was convicted for the murder of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh on 31 August 1995. Rajoana was sentenced to death by a special CBI court in Chandigarh on 1 August 2007.
