The reason for opening an office on behalf of DGCA at Amritsar airport is the growth of new airlines here. The record growth of passengers at Amritsar airport proves this point. According to the data released by the Airports Authority of India, a total of 22.4 lakh passengers used the Amritsar airport in 2022. This number was 111% higher in 2022 than in 2021.

Apart from Amritsar, DGCA is also going to open its offices in Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Agartala, Nagpur and Dehradun. Till now DGCA has total 14 offices. Apart from this, the Hyderabad sub-office can also be upgraded.
