CM Mann’s U-TURN again on the issue of patwaris! Reversed his announcement of September 8! 5 to 18 thousand questions raised on training allowance!

Bureau Report: On the issue of Patwaris, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been accused of doing a U-TURN again on his own decision. After the announcement of Patwaris going on strike, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that 1090 Patwaris recruited in 2022 will be sent to the circle only after 15 months of training. While the training time was 18 months. But again the government issued a letter and ordered 1090 patwaris to complete their training. That is, again the government has backed away from its decision. Let us tell you that the government had recruited 1090 patwaris in 2022, but 349 patwaris left the training and joined some other base, now only 741 patwaris are taking training.

CM Mann’s U-turn on Patwaris is not the first time

This is not the first time that the Hon’ble government has taken a U-TURN regarding patwaris. In 2022, when the government handed over appointment letters to 1090 patwaris, it announced that the training of patwaris from one and a half years i.e. 18 months has been reduced to one year. In which 9 months of Patwar Khane and 3 months of field training were held. The Patwaris, who were recruited before the 1090 batch, had filed a petition in the High Court protesting that with the recent decision of the government, the Patwaris coming back will become senior.

After which the government changed its decision and made the training 18 months. The same logic is being given behind the recent U-TURN of the Bhagwant Mann government that the matter is in the High Court, so 18 months of training is necessary. Opponents are questioning why Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann does not investigate all the facts before making the announcement. Apart from this, while handing over the appointment letters to the new 710 Patwaris on September 8, Chief Minister Mann had announced that Patwaris will now be given 18,000 instead of 5,000 during training. Patwaris are also worried about this announcement of CM Mann.

Why are the Patwaris not sure about the allowance of 18 thousand?

The government had announced to pay 19900 basic salary to the 1090 patwaris who were recruited in 2022, but they say that only 5 thousand per month is coming to our account and that too the government has not received from the last three months. The demand of the patwaris going to the floodplain also included the issue of how you will get the new patwaris to work on a daily wage of Rs 164. That is why Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had announced a training allowance of Rs 18,000 on September 8 when he gave appointment letters to 710 new Patwaris. But the patwaris with 1090 say that when we did not get 19,900 rupees as promised, how will the government give 18 thousand rupees?
