The controversy that erupted after Kuldeep Chahal was suddenly relieved from the post of SSP in Chandigarh seems to be subsiding. It is being told that senior IPS Kanwardeep Kaur may soon get the charge of new SSP of Chandigarh. Let us tell you that on December 13, 2009 batch IPS officer of Chandigarh Kuldeep Chahal was removed from the post of Chandigarh SSP while ordering by the Union Home Ministry. At present, SSP Traffic Manisha Chowdhary has been given additional charge in her place.

Ferozepur SSP’s name at the forefront

Let us tell you that after the release of Kuldeep Chahal, many questions were raised by the opposition parties including the Punjab government. Along with this, a panel of IPS officers was sought from the Punjab government by the Chandigarh administration. The panel names other IPS officers including Akhil Chowdhary, Sandeep Garg, Bhagirath Meena and Kanwardeep Kaur. Out of these, the name of SSP Ferozepur Kanwardeep Kaur is going ahead.

Originally a resident of Chamkaur Sahib Tehsil, Kanwardeep Kaur has earlier served as SSP in Kapurthala, Fazilka and Malerkotla.
