A heartbreaking incident took place in Punjab’s Ferozepur district on Friday, in which an electrician was electrocuted to death and people watched helplessly, unable to do anything. The video of this accident is going viral on social media.

The department asked whether it was a regular worker or a raw worker
Ramesh, a resident of Sukar Nahar, said that the lights in his area were bad since Thursday evening. People complained to the electricity department. On Friday, a young man named Jyoti was sent to fix the electricity, who first connected the broken wires below. He then climbed the pole with a ladder but as soon as Jyoti touched the electric wires with the plasma, he was electrocuted and burst into flames.

People present at the spot watched helplessly. Some people called the power house and asked them to turn off the electricity immediately and told them about the incident, then the workers sitting there asked whether the dead worker was a regular worker or a raw worker. People’s anger increased after hearing that the person who died was a human, in such a situation, why are the people of the department asking whether he was a raw employee or a regular.

Financial assistance given to the Red Cross
Angry people started protesting against the department. The deceased Jyoti was serving as a raw worker in the electricity department for a long time. On getting the information about the incident, on the orders of the district administration and DC, Red Cross Secretary Bahl reached the spot and calmed down the victim’s family and handed over a check of Rs 50 thousand as financial assistance.
