Punjab Vigilance Bureau: Punjab Vigilance Bureau, during the anti-corruption campaign, arrested Harpreet Singh, son of former Forest Minister Punjab Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, on the charge of buying a plot for 60 lakh rupees and selling it for only 25 lakh rupees on the same day. Three other persons have been named as accused in a corruption case already registered.

In this case, two accused Rajesh Kumar Chopra and Raj Kumar Nagpal have been arrested by the Vigilance Bureau and have been produced in the Mohali court and remanded for 6 days. Further investigation of this case is ongoing.

Giving information in this regard, a spokesman of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau said that the bureau has already filed case number 06 dated 06-02-2023 under section 13(1), 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act against the Vigilance Bureau Udan Dasta, Punjab. Registered in Mohali police station. From the investigation of this case, it was found that the accused Raj Kumar Nagpal, resident of Sector 8, Panchkula, Haryana had given the LOI of Plot No. 2023, Sector-88 Mohali. Gurminder Singh Gill, Resident of House No. 1677, Face-3B-2 Mohali, purchased one Astam (No. AE773271) for Rs.60 lakh on 27.11.2018 while another Astam (No. AE773272) was purchased in the same series of Astams on the same day. Because of this, accused Raj Kumar sold the same plot to accused Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, son of former Punjab Forest Minister Harpreet Singh, reducing the price of around 35 lakh rupees to only 25 lakh rupees. At the time of purchase and sale of this plot, accused Rajesh Kumar Chopra, resident of Sector 82 JLPL, Mohali signed as a witness.

He said that during the investigation, it was also found that out of the amount of Rs 60 lakh, Rs 22,50,000 was already deposited in the account of the said accused Raj Kumar from accused Rajesh Kumar Chopra, the proprietor of Anmol Umpire Private Limited, from Harpreet Singh son of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot. 25,00,000 and Rs.12,10,000 were deposited by others. This LOI from Raj Kumar. Raj Kumar Sarpanch, Property Dealer, Jujhar Nagar Mohali and resident of Phase 6, Mohali has played an important role in bringing Harpreet Singh forward.

According to the spokesperson, the LOI was given in the name of Raj Kumar in the name of Gurminder Singh Gill, the record seller of Gamada. There is no record of transfer and the plot was directly transferred from the name of Gurminder Singh Gill to the name of the said Harpreet Singh.

He said that in this way Raj Kumar Nagpal, Rajesh Kumar Chopra property dealer, Raj Kumar Sarpanch property dealer and Harpreet Singh son of Sadhu Singh have given this LOI to Raj Kumar through different entries. It has been shown to buy and sell fraudulently and help in showing the purchase of a plot worth around Rs 60 lakh for Rs 25 lakh for the son of the accused Sadhu Singh Dharamsot. Therefore, in the present case, I.P.C. Adding Section 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B and Section 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act to Harpreet Singh son of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot resident of Annia Road, Amloh, Raj Kumar Nagpal, Rajesh Kumar Chopra and Raj Kumar Sarpanch. has been named as an accused. In this case, two accused Rajesh Kumar Chopra and Raj Kumar Nagpal have been arrested on 28.03.2023 and the search for the rest is on.
