IND OFF Bilateral Relation : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Australia. Here he interacted with the CEOs of many companies. Among them, Paul Schroeder, CEO of Australia Super, Executive Chairman of Fortescue Future Industries, Dr. Andrew Forrest and Gina Rinehart, executive chairman of Hancock Prospecting, were in attendance. PM Modi invited Australian industrialists to invest in India.
Earlier, in an interview given to an Australian newspaper on Monday, PM Modi said that he wants to take India-Australia relations to the next level. This includes improving defense and security ties in the Indo-Pacific region.
PM said – there will be a discussion on increasing cooperation with Australia
He said – I am not a person who is easily satisfied, and I know that Prime Minister Albanese of Australia is also like that. I am sure that when we meet in Sydney, we will discuss how we can take our relationship to a different level, work better together and enhance cooperation. Modi is the second Prime Minister after Rajiv Gandhi to visit Australia.
PM Modi said – Australia and India are good friends
During the interview, PM Modi said- The strong relationship and trust between India and Australia motivates both the countries for better partnership in the field of defense and security.
We are good friends and therefore we can talk openly about every issue. Australia understands India’s position on various issues and this is the foundation of bilateral relations between the two countries.
PM Modi did not comment on the submarine deal between US, UK and Australia under AUKUS. PM said – it is their decision. He briefed us on the deal and the motive behind it.
