School Roof Collapse: There has been a major accident due to the collapse of the government school roof of Ludhiana’s Pid Baddowal. The school has been sealed from all sides after the death of one of the teachers. NDRF team is conducting rescue operations.
A teacher died after a lantern fell in the Government Smart School of Baddowal, Ludhiana. The deceased has been identified as Ravinderpal Kaur. While 3 teachers have been rescued. The administrative team is still carrying out rescue operations at the school. Some other people are also feared to be buried under the debris. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has also expressed grief over the accident by tweeting.
The four teachers were sitting in the room where the lantern has fallen. They immediately rushed the injured to Ludhiana Civil Hospital. Children were also present in the school at the time of the incident. The injured teachers have been identified as Narinder Jeet Kaur, Indu Rani and Surjeet Kaur.
A very sad information has been received from the Government Senior Secondary School Baddowal (District Ludhiana) that during the construction of the school building, four teachers were buried under the debris due to the fall of the lantern, out of which one teacher has died.

Immediately after the accident, the Ludhiana district administration informed the NDRF team. 18 people of the team have started rescue operation at the spot. DC Surbhi Malik said – the injured have been immediately sent to the hospital.
The building was already in a dilapidated condition
It should be said that the building of this school was in a dilapidated condition. Today, renovation work was going on on the second floor. Suddenly the second floor lantern fell. Under the pressure of which the first floor also collapsed. The good thing is that at the time of the accident, the students were not inside this building, but at a short distance from it, otherwise a big accident could have happened. Till the time of writing the rural police including police station Mullanpur were present on the spot.

A teacher named Ravinder Kaur has died due to the fall of the lantern, who was brought to Medicity Hospital in Ludhiana after being removed from the accident site, where she has died, while the other two teachers are undergoing treatment at Medicity Hospital. ongoing while one teacher has been referred to DMC Hospital. The condition of the rest of the teachers is said to be out of danger.
SDM West has confirmed the death. He has said that the entire matter will be investigated. On the other hand, the principal of the school from which the teacher Baddowal had transferred also expressed grief and said that this is a very unfortunate incident.
