Bureau Report: A Sikh youth has been attacked by some migrant youth in Dhandari area of Ludhiana. The attacker stripped the Sikh youth down to his turban and then called him caste-indicative words. This incident has been captured in the CCTV installed in the area.
The victim Ravinder Singh has told that he was returning home from some work. On the way, 5 to 7 youths of the area stood up. They made bad jokes with him and also used caste-indicative words, when he stopped, he was beaten up.
Beaten by wearing a turban
According to the victim, the son of Happy Jenter, a resident of the area, was mainly involved in the accused. He was speaking profanity again and again. Ravinder said that when he called his father, the angry young man attacked him along with his colleagues. After beating him, he removed his turban and broke the mobile phone in his pocket. The victim said that the accused hurt the religious sentiments by using wrong words. Ravinder said that when he went to the police station to complain, the police did not listen to him.
People’s sloganeering against the police
After the attack on the victim Ravinder Singh, people gathered and raised slogans against the police administration. After which the police have started investigating the matter. Both people have been arrested. At present, the CCTV is being checked to identify the remaining accused.
