Police-Smuggler Encounter: It is being told that the Jalandhar STF had reached Amritsar to arrest the smugglers. A smuggler has been arrested with the help of Amritsar police.
There has been an encounter between police and smugglers in Amritsar, Punjab. A smuggler was shot dead in the firing from both sides. The police have admitted him to the hospital. The smuggler has been identified as Pratap Singh.
According to the information, the team of Special Task Force (STF) of Jalandhar received the information of drug smugglers in Raya of Amritsar. On receiving the information, the team surrounded the smuggler near Raya. Seeing himself surrounded, the smuggler started firing at the team.
On the other hand, the STF also retaliated, in which his leg was injured. The team immediately took control of him.
Pistol and heroin recovered
The STF team recovered 350 grams of heroin and a pistol from the smuggler. Currently, the trafficker is being treated. The concerned officials have refused to give more information about it.
