Jalandhar Lok Sabha Bypoll : By-elections are being held today for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat. Voting has started here from 8 am, which will continue till 6 pm.
16,21,800 voters of the Lok Sabha constituency will exercise their right to vote and a total of 19 candidates have contested this election. People will decide the fate of all 19 candidates today. There are 8,44,904 male and 7,76,855 female voters and 41 third gender voters.

Congress candidate for Jalandhar by-election Karamjit Kaur arrived in Jalandhar to vote. On this occasion he said that of course everyone will claim victory but we will get the result only on May 13. Today, the entire Jalandhar district is exercising its right to vote, especially women. He said that the family, party and people of Jalandhar will continue to miss Santokh Singh Chaudhary, but like him, I am also getting the warm love of the people. Speaking about the AAP party, he said that AAP is still one year old and as a 136-year-old party, we are seeking votes from people based on that work. Our family has been associated with this party for 97 years. AAP party has no ideology, they have tried to pull one stick from every forest.
Sushil Kumar Rinku, AAP candidate
Sushil Kumar Rinku also voted today. On this occasion, he gave an example of papers and said that when you have studied for the whole year, there is no panic on the day of the paper. Rinku said that we are not panicking, so we are feeling full of confidence.
He claimed that I don’t see anything competitive because as AAP has campaigned, the photo culture in the Congress party has been more visible as the Congress leaders have been taking photographs only. There will be a big difference in the results of the elections.
Rinku claimed that if he becomes a Member of Parliament, he will do three things first for Jalandhar, including completing the stalled projects of Adampur Road, Adampur Flyover, Jalandhar Airport and Smart City.

There is a lot of resentment towards AAP among people, they have not yet fulfilled the guarantee of giving thousand rupees to women. Whatever development has taken place in Punjab, it has been done only by Akali Dal. When Akali-BSP comes together, all other parties collapse.
Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal
Rajya Sabha member from Punjab Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal also reached Jalandhar today and cast his vote. After voting, Seechewal said that people choose their own government. He urged everyone to exercise their right to vote. Praising the AAP government, Seechewal said that more people are voting for the AAP because this party has done many things for the environment.
Congress MLA Pargat Singh
Congress MLA leader Pargat Singh also reached Jalandhar to vote.
