Jalandhar Lok Sabha By-Election 2023: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has condemned the authoritarian attitude of the BJP government and said that the BJP is scared because of the growing popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party and Kejriwal. AAP leaders and workers are protesting today against the CBI investigation of their national convener Arvind Kejriwal.

Punjab AAP leaders were stopped and arrested at Singhu and Tikri border. AAP Punjab has condemned this step of the BJP government and termed it as murder of democracy. AAP leaders, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Mahendra Bhagat, AAP Punjab General Secretary Harchand Singh Burst, former MLA Jagbir Singh Brar, Secretary Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Jagroop Sekhwan and Jalandhar District President Amritpal Singh took up the matter. K held a press conference here in Jalandhar.

Addressing the media, AAP’s senior leader Harpal Singh Cheema said that BJP and Congress are old parties, but AAP has acquired the title of national party in just 10 years. Wherever we are contesting elections, we are also gaining people’s support. Cheema said that in just 10 years, AAP has been in government in two states and also got 13 per cent and 6 per cent vote shares in Gujarat and Goa elections respectively. BJP is afraid of Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal.

Cheema said that common people are with AAP, they like the pro-people policies of the party. Traditional parties deprived the common people of quality education and quality treatment for 70 years. But earlier in Delhi Arvind Kejriwal made all this possible and within the reach of common and poor people and now the Hon’ble Government of Punjab is doing the same for the people of the state. But the BJP government is misusing the central agencies against the opposition leaders. Today, Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain, the leaders who made the education and health revolution a reality, are in jail on false charges. But Modi’s capitalist friends Ambani-Adani are looting our country.

He said that Arvind Kejriwal is the most honest leader and BJP cannot intimidate him. He has reached the CBI office today without fear and without any pretext and will cooperate with the agency in the investigation. Cheema said Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers started protesting against the Modi government’s autocracy, but were stopped at Singhu and Tikri border, where farmers were stopped during their agitation against the three farm laws.

The excise policy which Delhi LG and BJP tried hard not to implement in Delhi, due to the same excise policy, the revenue of Punjab government increased by 41.41%.

Harpal Singh Cheema further said that BJP is the killer party of democracy. It is everyone’s right to protest, but the BJP wants to eliminate the opposition and strong opposition leaders before the 2024 general elections.

The AAP leader said that we have implemented the same liquor policy in Punjab and the revenue from it has increased by 41 percent, if it was not a good policy then how the revenue has increased so much. He said that BJP does not want mafia rule and liquor mafia to end from our country. All this incident and their politics of revenge has exposed their anti-democratic face.

Harpal Singh Cheema said that the people of Punjab will give a bitter reply to the BJP in the upcoming Jalandhar by-election. He appealed to the people to vote only for those who are working for common people and have development agenda.
