A young man from Dhariwal village of Kapurthala was swept away by the rapid flow of Beas river. As soon as it was known, some divers living in the vicinity took out his body after 9 hours of difficulty. Who has been identified as 35-year-old Harjit Singh alias Hari Suro Gurdev Singh, resident of village Dhaliwal Bet.

According to eyewitness Sarban Singh, as soon as Harjit Singh entered the river Beas to go to his camp, he was washed away due to the strong current. Many efforts were made to save him but he could not be saved.
