Increased Prices of Tomatoes: The prices of tomatoes have increased manifold due to the destruction of vegetable crops due to unseasonal rains. Let us tell you that a few days ago tomato was available at the price of 10 to 15 rupees per kg, now it is available at 100 to 120 rupees per kg. Former councilor Vijay Kumar staged a unique demonstration at Parasram Nagar Chowk in Bathinda against the sudden increase in the price of tomatoes.

On this occasion, Vijay Kumar MC rode the chariot with ornaments made of tomatoes on his neck and head. While riding the chariot, people gifted baskets full of tomatoes to Vijay Kumar MC. Weapons were also kept by the former councilor to avoid looting of tomatoes.

Talking to the media, former councilor Vijay Kumar said that after the increase in the price of tomatoes, it has disappeared from the kitchens of common households, but the government is not taking any steps regarding better prices of tomatoes. Due to which the budget of ordinary households has deteriorated.

Also, he said that after a thousand-fold increase in the prices of tomatoes, it has to be protected like gold, so that no one loots it. He has also kept weapons for the protection of tomatoes and soon these tomatoes will be deposited in the bank for future use. He said that the government should control the prices of tomatoes so that the kitchen budget of poor people is not damaged.
