Late at night, a big trailer going from Gurdaspur to Mukerian became uncontrollable as it neared the village of Chawa. After which he entered two roadside shops and captured many shopkeepers selling vegetables, fruits and food items. Due to which 2 people died on the spot, while 6 people were injured. . Not only this, the driver dragged people along with him. The rags of one of them flew and scattered on the road.

The injured have been sent to Civil Hospital for treatment. Seeing the serious condition of a patient here, the doctors have referred him to Amritsar. The deceased have been identified as Ajay Kumar, a resident of Nangal, and Kiran Das, a migrant worker. It is being told that the truck driver was in a state of intoxication. People have caught him and handed him over to the police. They were taken to Civil Hospital for treatment where they are being treated.

SP Navjot Singh, who reached the spot, said that he had received information that a truck had crushed many people. He said that after reaching the spot, the injured were taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment. He said that 3 people have died in this accident. Currently, the truck has been taken into possession and further action will be taken by registering a case against the truck driver.
