Ludhiana: A fire broke out in the SDM office of Khanna town in Ludhiana district of Punjab early on Sunday morning. It is being told that the fire broke out in the meeting hall on the first floor. The fire was so fierce that the furniture and other items of the meeting hall were burnt to ashes. This was immediately reported to the control room. Fire brigade personnel reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

According to information, Hauldar Harvinder Singh heard the sound of glass breaking. Hearing this, when they went to the meeting hall, they were shocked to see a fire in the room. He immediately informed the fire brigade. The fire brigade personnel reached the spot on time and the fire was brought under control after about an hour and a half of struggle. It is being told that the meeting hall room was covered with PVC due to which the fire spread further.

SDM Manjit Kaur also reached the spot as soon as the fire came to light. According to SDM Manjeet Kaur, the actual cause of the fire is yet to be known, but in the preliminary investigation, it seems that the accident occurred due to a short circuit. He said that there was no record of any kind in this room. The department has been informed about this matter. Along with this, the renovation work of the meeting hall will be started soon.
