After a meeting led by Jagjot Singh Sohi, president of Takht Patna Sahib Gurdwara Management Committee, a decision was taken on the appointment of Giani Baldev Singh.
Former Jathedar Ranjit Singh was accused of corruption
Earlier, Jathedar Ranjit Singh Gauhar of Takht Patna Sahib faced serious allegations of corruption after which he was retired. After this, various discussions were going on continuously regarding this post. The Sangat was in a dilemma. Last year, there was a very violent clash in the Takht Patna Sahib, the former Jathedar of Patna Sahib Iqbal Singh refused to vacate the Jathedar’s room, then the Patna Sahib Gurdwara Management Committee had an appearance at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. After which the managers were also sentenced and immediately instructed Iqbal Singh and Ranjit Singh Gauhar to vacate the rooms.
Panj Piariyan rejected the decision of Jathedar Sri Akal Takht
In December, when the then Sri Akal Takht Giani Harpreet Singh sentenced the committee, Panj Pyara rejected the decision of the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht and instead asked him to answer the questions. After which the dispute started between the management committee reached the Jathedars of Takhts. Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, looking at the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, asked the present committee to conduct the elections as soon as possible. The deadline of January 15 elections was fixed. After that Jagjot Singh Sohi was elected the president of Takht Patna Sahib Gurdwara Management Committee
Complaint about the arrival of outsiders in Takht Patna Sahib
In the meeting of the management committee of Takht Patna Sahib, the administration has been appealed to stop the activities of Brijesh Muni of Kabir Kamath in Takht Sahib. Mani used to come and go to Jathedar Ranjit Singh’s house, he used to sit at Ranjit Singh Gauhar’s house for many hours. The committee told the administration that Ranjit Singh Gauhar and Brijesh Muni will be held responsible for any untoward incident. Therefore, the administration prevented them from entering the Takht Sahib.
