A boy and a girl jumped into the Bhakra canal in Patiala. The police have recovered the girl's body with the help of divers while the search for the boy is on.
According to Pasiana police station in-charge Karanbir Singh Sandhu, information has been given to the families of the deceased. The matter is being investigated. The deceased girl has been identified as 24-year-old Sarabjit Kaur, a resident of Tohana (Haryana), on the other hand, the boy has been identified as Divanur Singh, a resident of Patiala.
Shankar Bharadwaj, president of the divers club, said that at around 2 o'clock in the afternoon, information was received that a girl had jumped into Bhakra Canal on Patiala-Sangrur. After this, a young man also jumped into the canal. Immediately a team of divers reached the spot and started searching in the canal. According to the people present at the spot, both reached the canal bank in the afternoon and during the conversation, the girl jumped into the canal and after that the boy also jumped.
