Crime News: A 14-year-old student is accused of setting her school on fire. Due to his action, 20 people lost their lives. It was said that he was angry with the teacher confiscating the phone. He had also threatened arson before the incident. The case is the South American country of Guyana.

According to a Daily Star report, a fire broke out in the girls’ hostel of Mahdia Secondary School on Monday night. In no time, it engulfed a large part of the school. Many students and staff got trapped in it. Immediately the fire brigade team was called. But by the time the fire was put out, 20 people had died.

The incident took place in the Central Guyana mining town, about 200 miles away from the capital Georgetown. Now in this case, the police has revealed that the person who started the fire was none other than a student of the school. The student’s mobile phone was confiscated by his teacher. He was upset about this. Getting angry, he took a terrible step. The girl herself got burnt in the fire.

The police made a shocking revelation

Police say that the accused student started the fire only because the school administration had seized and confiscated his mobile phone. In fact, the school administration had come to know that the student was in contact with an elder. After this, this action was taken. Guyana’s National Security Adviser Gerald Gouvia said that the accused girl is about 14 years old. When his phone was taken away, he threatened to set fire to the girls’ hostel.

Although the girl was also injured due to the fire, she is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. After being discharged from the hospital, he will be taken into custody and questioned. Along with this, the condition of many of the 9 other people admitted to the hospital is critical.

Currently, countries like the US have offered help to Guyana over this heartbreaking incident. These countries have talked about sending forensic experts to help with DNA identification. Because of the burning in the fire, a big crisis has arisen in the identification of the dead bodies.

Most of the dead are girls aged 12 to 18 who came from villages. The five-year-old son of a female employee working in the school also became a victim of this accident. The fire fighters succeeded in saving some people by making a hole in the wall.
